COVID-19라는 위기 속에서, 인류의 소통하고자 하는 바람은 새로운 온라인 대면 시대를 열었다. KUCD GRAD SHOW 2020은 그 흐름에 발맞추어 온라인으로 진행된다.
슬로건인 ‘CANCEL OR SAVE’는 졸업 전시가 현 상황으로 인해 어떠한 형태로든 축소되거나 취소(CANCEL)되는 것이 아니라 새로운 방식으로 지킨다(SAVE)는 긍정적 의미를 전달한다. 동시에, 비대면 상황에서 비주얼커뮤니케이션 디자인이 할 수 있는 새로운 역할을 보여주고자 한다. 67명의 졸업 전시 참여자들은 이런 의지와 함께 이곳에서 각자의 작업을 선보인다.
디지털 환경에서 우리는 데이터를 저장하기 위해 수없이 많은 ‘CANCEL OR SAVE’를 마주친다. 해오던 것을 저장하고 미래에 더 발전시키기 위해 우리가 누르게 되는 것은 언제나 ‘SAVE’이다. 거리가 멀어진 우리가 다시 가까워 지는 날까지 잊지 않고 ‘SAVE’ 해야 할 것은 연결과 소통, 즉 커뮤니케이션일 것이다.
In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, mankind's desire to communicate has opened a new era of face-to-face online. KUCD GRAD SHOW 2020 will be held online in line with the trend.
The slogan ‘CANCEL OR SAVE’ conveys the positive meaning that the graduation exhibition will not be reduced or canceled in any form due to the current situation, but will be preserved in a new way (SAVE). At the same time, we want to show a new role that visual communication design can play in a non-face-to-face situation. The 67 participants in the graduation exhibition showcase their work here with this will.
In the digital environment, we encounter countless 'CANCEL OR SAVE' to save data. It is always 'SAVE' that we press to save what we have been doing and develop further in the future. Until the day we get closer again after being far apart, what we need to ‘save’ without forgetting is connection and communication, that is, communication.
